PATRICK ZAPALA

"Patrick has been a consistent member of our Teens program since 2020.  Since then, his weaknesses have become some of his strengths.  He recently mastered double unders and he actually enjoys doing pull ups now. Patrick is a pleasure to coach, he comes in a with a smile and ready to work, which is why he consistently shows progress.  Since he joined, we have watched him grow in both maturity and strength. Keep working hard in and out of the gym, I have no doubt that you will go far! Congratulations Patrick! Hard work pays off!" -Coach Ag

What do you enjoy most about being a member of CFMV?

The thing I enjoy most are the trainers that push you to do the best and the other individuals in class.

What do you enjoy most about CF?

I really like all the different movements involved. For example how you have to use most of your body for whatever workout. The incorporation between cardio and use of weights. Everything has a technique.

When did you start CF?

I started three years ago

What was your first CF workout?  How did you feel after?

My first workout was doing rowing and burpees after another. I absolutely hated it, I wanted to go straight home from there. To say the least it was hard. But after a while you get the flow and now, I do not mind it. I feel like I got a good workout, my mindset changed.

What is your favorite movement?

As of right now I’m constantly trying to perfect my muscle up, it’s a challenge and I got it a couple times. But never twice in one day, it’s very fun trying to learn and when you pull yourself over that bar, nothing feels better.

 What is your favorite game?

Plank wrestling has to be the most fun, trying to pull an opponent's arm and see who is last standing.

How had CF changed you?

One of them would be how I think about working out. It used to be a burden to go to the gym and do whatever. It’s fun now, I’ve learned many different techniques over the years and workouts in general. I always surprise myself and look forward to working out.

What were your goals when you started?

Just to lose weight, but I’ve reached my goal. Now I’m just trying to get strength in calisthenics.

What are your goals for this year?

Of course one of my goals would be to be able to do muscle ups like they’re nothing. Trying to build as much strength as possible.
