SHAKIRA

SHAKIRA CORDOVA

"Shakira started her journey with us almost 5 months ago. She has come a very long way in a very short time. Whenever Shakira walks in the door she hones in on a particular obstacle and tackles it with determination to conquer it. She's very coachable and confident in her abilities. We love having her in class as she always brings her energy." -Coach Juliana

What do you enjoy most about being a member of The CircHIIT?

The flexibility of classes offered.

How/when did you get involved with The CircHIIT?

I got involved in the Circhiit in early February, I always drove by the gym and it looked like fun.

How did you feel after your first workout at The CircHIIT?

I felt very accomplished.

What do you enjoy most about The CircHIIT?

It’s my personal time. I do this for myself. I’m surrounded by people who are working towards the same goals and coaches that always want us to do better but also understand how to scale movements for us.

What is your favorite station and movement at The CircHIIT?

My favorite station is the fitbench, my favorite movement are snatches into thrusters.

What is your least favorite stations/ movement at The CircHIIT?

My least favorite movement is burpees and the rower is the worst station.

What motivates you?

One of my biggest motivators is just the change in how I’m feeling while I’m working out. I can run faster, row faster, and I can just overall handle the workouts better. It pushes me to try more.

How has The CircHIIT changed you?

I feel like the Circhiit has opened the door for me to try new things in all aspects of my life.

What were your goals when you started this journey ?

My goal when I started was to find something for myself. To become the person I advocate for my patients to be.

What are your goals for the upcoming year?

My goal is hopefully start incorporating CrossFit into my Circhiit routine. And run a 10 minute mile.

Do you have any advice for new members?

You just have to go, be consistent. It’s always going to be scary but the first step is always the hardest. It can only go up from there.
