JESSICA GERLAK

"Jessica has been a consistent member for about 6 months. She came in after having a baby and has been absolutely killing it! She is determined and hard working. She puts on her game face and pushes herself out of her comfort zone. She walks in nervous and walks out smiling and sweating every single time. She is a pleasure to coach and amazing to watch get through her workout. I've been lucky enough to have her workout with me numerous times at the CircHIIT and many years ago on a spin bike! " -Coach Julia

What do you enjoy most about being a member of The CircHIIT?

The whole team at The CircHIIT is super welcoming, it’s not too big of a gym where it’s intimidating but has enough hard working athletes to feel inspired.

How/when did you get involved with The CircHIIT?

I live a block away from The CircHIIT and have passed by it so many times but sometimes it was hard to tell if the gym was open and one day I decided the peloton is not cutting it I need something more that will bring me out of the house after postpartum and I’ve been consistent with going 4-5 times a week since May 2023

How did you feel after your first workout at The CircHIIT?

After my first workout I realized I’ve been out of the game for way too long. I stopped doing any intense workouts two years prior to CircHIIT as I starting working a lot more hours and then got pregnant. I know getting back and staying consistent would be a challenge but it’s so rewarding not just physically but mentally.

What do you enjoy most about The CircHIIT?

I get to challenge myself in every workout and push my limits, and then I get to walk out of there feeling accomplished. It’s a great way to start or finish your day off with!

What is your favorite station and movement at The CircHIIT?

I always love to start with the TRX station. Anything that helps build the booty I enjoy!

What is your least favorite stations/ movement at The CircHIIT?

Rowers- they hurt my back lol

What motivates you?

My postpartum body as well as mental health.

What were your goals when you started this journey ?

The goal started off  with wanting to get back into shape and lose weight but as my mental well-being was getting worse that became the main focus and the rest is just a Bonus.

What are your goals for the upcoming year?

To continue to lose weight and be able to lift heavier and build a stronger core.

Do you have any advice for new members?

Don’t give up, it wasn’t meant to be easy. No matter how long you have done this for it’s always going to be challenging so we are basically all in the same level don’t get intimidated.
