"Claudia is not afraid to challenge herself! Anything I throw at her she is willing to try. I challenged her to step out of her comfort zone of benching 15lbs dumbbells & Claudia pressed 30lbs. Not only that but she is willing to do any competition event to test herself. What do you enjoy most about being a member of The CircHIIT?
It’s true what everyone says- this community is really special. I love watching the pros who have been doing it for years knowing I too will get there. And then meeting a new member and seeing how far I've come. Then the coaches bring the energy, the support and that constant voice to keep going!!
How/when did you get involved with The CircHIIT?
As a mom of 3, juggling work, family, and life in general I needed something for ME. I just didn't want to go back to the same old gyms I had tried in the past. I was scared to death to try anything in the Crossfit space so naturally I hesitated at first and figured I’d start with their Fit over 40 classes with Coach Pat who is phenomenal at breaking down movements. I also had the best 1-on-1 training with Coach Juliana who really helped guide me through this gym style. She pointed out my strengths, identified where I really needed work and fully committed to helping me get better and stronger. She planted that little seed of confidence and a short time later, I kicked my training wheels off and took my 1st CircHIIT class.
How did you feel after your first workout at The CircHIIT?
I was like I could do this! And then the next day I took a class and was like damn, I just got my ass kicked. And that is what I love about the CirHIIT. Each day is different; it forces me to push myself out of my comfort zone and see what I can do. To this day, I still get excited to go to class.
What do you enjoy most about The CircHIIT?
I mostly do the 5am classes and it really sets up my day for success. Feels so good to have my workout crossed off nice and early and it gives me energy to take on the rest of my day!
What is your favorite station and movement at The CircHIIT?
The rower and I are friends now so that’s my favorite cardio and I love working out my arms and back at the pull up bar.
What is your least favorite stations/ movement at The CircHIIT?
The Fit Bench when box jumps are in order and damn lunges try to take me down sometimes.
What motivates you?
My mental state has improved tremendously since this journey. The physical changes are awesome but some natural dopamine does wonders at this stage of my life. I am motivated to keep feeling good mentally and physically. When the motivation is not there, consistency kicks in and determines I still have to go.
What were your goals when you started this journey ?
To get strong! To feel good in my skin. To say I started something and committed to it.
What are your goals for the upcoming year?
Go faster, jump higher, lift heavier. And move in next door to Crossfit.
Do you have any advice for new members?
You won’t be the new kid for very long. You will see friendly faces even when you feel like an outsider at first. The coaches really do want to help you, ask questions! Get used to being uncomfortable, it can suck but it can also be so sweet when you push through. No one ever regretted working out- just keep showing up for you!
