What do you enjoy most about being a member of CrossFit Middle Village?

It is a community where everyone is supportive of one another.

The coaches push you to be the best version of yourself. Due to the small class sizes, the coaches are able to dedicate time to each member during the workout. I never thought I would look forward to waking up for a  4:30 A.M. workout.

How/when did you get involved in CrossFit?

I took my first Crossfit class at CFMV on February 14, 2020.  My daughter took the kids classes and I was a member of The CIRCHIIT so I  would arrive early just to watch the Crossfit classes. I  wanted to try a class for a long time  but was very intimidated.  I finally  made a promise to myself and six weeks after surgery I took my first class.

The coaches were very supportive and guided me through the process.

One month after I took my first CrossFit class the gym was forced to close due to COVID-19.  Chris and Julia were dedicated to their members and made sure we were able to continue our morning workouts virtually.   I can not thank them and the CFMV family enough for their commitment to their members.

What was your first CrossFit workout? How did you feel afterwards?

Power Cleans.  I was proud that I had completed the WOD because I was convinced I wouldn’t be able to finish. I was looking forward to the following morning.

What do you enjoy most about CrossFIt?

I always feel great after every workout, no matter how challenging.  I like that the coaches always push you to be the best version of yourself . I also love the variety in the workouts. CrossFit helps me both physically and mentally.

What is your favorite WOD or Lift?

I love Deadlifts and anything involving barbells, even though I can’t lift as heavy as I would like at times due to injuries and mobility issues.

What is your least favorite WOD or Lift?.

Overhead Squats, even though I have come a long way from the beginning, I still struggle with overhead movements.

What motivates you? How has CrossFit changed you?

My 10 year old daughter motivates me each day to be a better version of myself.  She likes to remind me that she will be able to do a pull-up before me.  I love that we are able to share the love of  Crossfit with each other.

CrossFit has made me more confident and has changed my mindset and relationship with working out and health.

What were your goals when you started this journey ?

My goal when I started this journey was to  make fitness a habit and a routine and I have definitely accomplished that.

What are your goals for the upcoming year?

My goals for this year is to continue to work on my mobility and focus on the progress I make with each workout.

Do you have any advice for new members?

The hardest part is showing up. Always remember why you are doing this and just have fun.
