STEPHANIE NAPOLITANO

“Stephanie always comes to class with such a positive attitude. She pays attention and takes critiques and advice very well. I’ve been coaching her for about 2 months now and I can see how much she’s progressed. Each class she’s ready to work and answer whatever weird question I throw at her.” -COACH DEANNA

What do you enjoy most about being a member of CrossFit Middle Village?

The community, for sure. From the moment I stepped into Crossfit, everyone made me feel like I belonged there. The coaches and members are really supportive and I felt really comfortable.

How/when did you get involved in CrossFit?

After my birthday last year, I decided I needed to start a consistent, challenging workout program. I drove by CFMV countless times and finally decided to give it a try. I started with the CircHIIT classes in October of last year and progressed through CrossFit Foundations. My first CrossFit class was on November 20.

What was your first CrossFit workout? How did you feel afterwards?

I honestly don’t remember what my first workout was but I definitely remember how I felt afterwards…accomplished!

What do you enjoy most about CrossFIt?

I think it comes back to the community. We’re all on different journeys - together. Although there is a competitive aspect to it, you can feel comfortable going at your own pace.

What is your favorite WOD or Lift? What is your least favorite WOD or Lift?

My favorite is the clean and jerk. Least favorite is the overhead squat.

What motivates you? How has CrossFit changed you?

We only get one body in this life so keeping it strong and healthy (and able to keep up with my daughter) is my main motivation. I’m also super inspired by other CrossFit members. Seeing everyone working hard and pushing themselves is contagious. The coaches are all very encouraging as well. I’m surprised at how much CrossFit has changed me. Not only has my body gotten stronger but my mindset has as well. It spills into all aspects of my life.

What were your goals when you started this journey?

Consistency and commitment were my main goals. Improvements in the body would follow naturally.

What are your goals for the upcoming year?

I really want to focus on improving my form this year. I appreciate the real-time feedback from the coaches on the nuances of the various lifts and how to refine the movements. I’d like to increase the power in my lifts as well but form comes first.

Do you have any advice for new members?

Just keep showing up. Results and progress come from consistency. Take it one workout at a time and go at your own pace.
